Learn about DNR inspections at CAFO workshops

By Blake Jackson

The UW-Madison Division of Extension and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are offering a series of workshops for CAFO permit holders, livestock producers, and their employees in late January and early February.

These workshops are designed to help attendees understand:

  • What to expect during a DNR inspection
  • Recent updates to nutrient management policies
  • The latest information on the permitting process

The workshops will also feature farmers and agronomist panels discussing nutrient management strategies and tips to avoid problems around livestock production areas.

Separate sessions for engineering consultants will be offered at two locations.

The workshops cost $46 in advance and $56 after the pre-registration deadline. You can register online at http://go.wisc.edu/CAFO2025.
