The Central Wisconsin Agri-Business Committee has honored the late-Jerry Meissner of Chili with its 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award. The group, which is a part of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the honor posthumously to Meissner's family during its annual Dairyfest breakfast last week at the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds..
Meissner passed away in December 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He farmed his entire life with his father and brothers at Norm-E-Lane Farms in Clark County. He also served as an auctioneer with Landini Realty & Auction Service for many years and lent his bid calling talents to hundreds of charity events through the years, including the National Farm Medicine Center's Auction of Champions fundraiser and CureSearch for children's cancer research.
Jerry also served as president of the Dairy Business Association 2007-2015; and was an officer of the DBA's milk marketing cooperative called Edge.
Meanwhile, H&S Manufacturing was presented with the group's Friend of Ag Award. Founded in 1967 by Lauri Heikenen and other partners, H&S operates manufacturing facilities in Marshfield, Clintonville and Ripley, New York.
The annual award program recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses in the Marshfield area for their support of the agricultural industry.
