The country's premier organic farming and sustainable agriculture gathering, the Marbleseed Organic Farming Conference, is back for its 35th year. Scheduled for February 22-24, 2024, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the event promises a vibrant atmosphere where farmers, researchers, and agriculture professionals can connect, learn, and grow together under the theme "Roots and Rhizomes."
With over 80 speakers, 50 workshops, Organic University courses, interactive panels, a bustling trade show, and ample networking opportunities, the conference offers a diverse and engaging experience. Attendees can explore topics like organic grain rotation, soil health, diverse farm operations, food sovereignty, and much more.
Past attendees consistently praise the event for its valuable content and fostering a supportive community. The three-day event kicks off with in-depth half-day Organic University Classes and Farmer Summits. Participants can choose from various topics, including agroforestry planning, climate adaptation for organic vegetable growers, growing medicinal and culinary herbs, and farm management strategies.
On Saturday, the conference culminates in a unique event called The Farmer Convergence: Growing Together. This open forum empowers attendees to share their experiences, ideas, and challenges within a community of like-minded individuals.
The trade show, open from February 22nd to 24th, features over 150 vendors showcasing products and services catering to the needs of farmers. Admission is included with conference registration.
Keynote speakers Anna Hammond, Ben Hartman, and Jim Kleinschmit will deliver inspiring talks focusing on innovative solutions for climate healing, work-life balance, and honoring the land, animals, and people involved in our food systems.
