The dairy industry faces unprecedented challenges due to the complex interplay of global politics, climate change, and market volatility.
The 2025 Business Conference, hosted by the Professional Dairy Producers (PDP), aims to equip dairy producers with the strategies needed to navigate these turbulent times.
"No matter what else is going on in the dairy industry, the issues of global politics, market trends and weather patterns are always top-of-mind issues," said John Haag, PDP board president. "Knowing what potentially lies ahead is key to success."
The conference, themed "Dialing It In," will offer 50 sessions led by world-class researchers, experts, and dairy producers.
Held March 12-13, 2025, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, the event will provide simultaneous Spanish translation. Two dedicated sessions will focus on leadership and communication skills for young adults (ages 15-18).
The opening session, "The Three-Headed Beast: Geopolitics, Markets, and Weather," will feature renowned experts providing insights into the forces shaping agriculture.
Speakers include Dan Basse (AgResource Company), Jacob Shapiro (Cognitive Investments), and Eric Snodgrass (Conduit). They will offer strategies for adapting and thriving despite ongoing volatility.
The "Dairy is the answer: Are you ready for the question?" general session on Thursday, March 13, will explore the dairy industry's role in achieving global environmental goals.
Speakers Emily Johannes (Nestle USA), Alisha Staggs (The Nature Conservancy), and Jason Clay (World Wildlife Fund) will discuss how global food companies are working towards sustainability pledges and how the dairy sector can contribute.
The conference also offers expanded networking opportunities and interaction with leading dairy suppliers at the Hall of Ideas Trade Show.
Attendees can explore new technologies and innovations impacting the dairy industry. The "Evening on the Square" event on Wednesday evening will provide live entertainment, a "taste of Wisconsin," and refreshments.
