The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is seeking nominations for eight open seats on the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted from February 28 to March 28, 2025.
Eight districts are currently accepting nominations: Districts 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, and 24, covering various counties across Wisconsin.
DFW directors play a vital role in guiding the organization's finances, setting policies, and developing long-term plans to support Wisconsin dairy farmers and promote dairy products.
DFW's mission is to advocate for, market, and promote Wisconsin dairy, educating consumers about the industry's importance. Directors have the opportunity to represent dairy producers and contribute to the industry's economic impact.
To be eligible, nominees must be active dairy producers who sell milk commercially and reside within the nominated district. A completed nomination form, including signatures from at least five other eligible producers, is required. Nomination forms must be postmarked by March 28, 2025.
Nomination materials are available online at http://www.wisconsindairy.org/board-of-directors/elections or by emailing DATCP program staff at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov.
DATCP will conduct the election from May 1 to May 23, 2025. Elected directors will serve three-year terms from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.
