Wisconsin Ag Forum to Tackle Rural Livability

The 2024 Wisconsin Agricultural Outlook Forum will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The forum will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities in Wisconsin and across the United States.

Morning Session: Farm Economy Outlook

The morning session of the forum will feature presentations on the current state and outlook for Wisconsin's farm economy. Experts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and industry will discuss the latest trends in corn and soybean production, livestock and meat production, and dairy production.

Afternoon Session: Rural Livability

The afternoon session of the forum will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities in Wisconsin and across the United States. Presenters from the public and non-profit sectors will discuss topics such as:

  • The decline of rural populations
  • The lack of access to affordable housing and healthcare
  • The need for economic development opportunities
  • The importance of preserving rural culture and heritage

Registration

Registration for the forum is now open and can be completed online. The registration fee is $50 and covers the cost of the forum, lunch, snacks, and the reception. A reserved parking spot for the day of the forum can be purchased during registration for an additional $20. Parking must be purchased by January 12 to allow for processing. Interested individuals who are unable to attend the forum in-person will have the option to watch a livestream of the event on the Renk Agribusiness Institute’s YouTube page. No registration is required for this free, virtual option.
